Celebrate the Earth, the elements, the seasonal cycle and our connection with songs and chants that honour Mother Earth, sending healing out with our voices, reconnecting us to deeper parts of ourselves and All Our Relations. This session coincides with Lunar Beltane.

We are blessed to be back at The Quiet View, a beautiful space with a cosy yurt in a beautiful garden, just outside Canterbury. We will have a warm fire if needbe and break for herbal teas and healthy snacks.

The songs are simple, yet powerful, especially when sung as a group. No experience necessary. Suitable for beginners and those with more experience might enjoy adding harmony parts. We will also try some simple rounds. We will start with simple warmups for breath, body and voice.

There may be some opportunity to add drums too for some of the songs, so if you have one you are invited to bring it to add to the healing energy.
We shall sing some of our familiar chants and some more spring-time focused ones, celebrating the lushness and abundance of spring and the increasing warmth and longer days as we enter the fullness of spring.

Beltane also known as Mayday, is an old fire festival, celebrating fertility at the height of spring, and the balance of male and female energies in nature. It has long been associated with Hawthorn – the May tree; whose flowers are usually abundant at this time. There are 2 beautiful magical Hawthorn trees at the Quiet View.

Most importantly the songs are usually felt as nurturing, joyful and uplifting, together with the power of our shared intention for healing and creating the most beautiful reality for All on this beautiful planet.

This session is followed by a Soundbath in the evening at 6:30pm. You are welcome to join for either or both of these sessions. We have hot food (provided ) and connection time in between

Feedback from previous attendees:
Thank you so much for another beautiful day at the Quiet View. I felt truly blessed to be be able to spend time with beautiful people in such a peaceful setting.”

I really enjoyed the Solstice Sacred Chants this afternoon, I’m actually quite shy, even a little group phobic, something I’m working on, but really got into it and loved it, got out of my head and into the space and met some amazing people. It was a great afternoon, and I’m still feeling its healing and peaceful effects.” M.B.

“Of all the different spiritual practices I do, your Solstice Chants are top of the list” MB

Come for Earth Chants in the afternoon and stay for the Soundbath, or just come to either. People love our Soundbath at the beautiful Quiet View. Experiencing sacred, healing and therapeutic sound in a circular space is very special.

Time to relax and restore. Apart from the deep nourishing relaxation and the enjoyment of being bathed in sound, benefits people often experience are increased sense of self awareness, feeling more connected to self and life, feeling cleansed or clearer, reduced stress and anxiety, help with pain control. You may also receive information or insight.

During this sort of sound work, as the brainwaves entrain to a slower rhythm, we enter a state of consciousness akin to meditation where stress hormones lower, blood pressure and heart rate drop and the brain’s sodium and potassium levels can be balanced. In this state, cellular regeneration can occur.

The BAST method of sound bath meditation is designed to help facilitate this very deep relaxed state. People usually find sound an easier way to achieve this state than by meditating.

Apart from the deep relaxation there’s also usually a great feel-good factor.

Please bring a yoga mat, pillow, blanket and bottle of water

“Thank you! I set my intention that my knees would be less painful and they have been great today! Wonderful sound bath as usual. My friends loved it too and are hoping to book on to the next one with a couple of their friends.” Nina Dougall

“Thank you so much for the sound bath yesterday. I’ve woken up full of the joys of spring and a renewed enthusiasm for life. And i did have a fantastic deep nights sleep too.”

I went to a gong bath in A Quiet View in Kingston, near Canterbury. It was a magical event put on by the wonderful Naomy Raven. Do check out her work. I’m mega impressed.”

I’m sure Naomy Raven could explain it better. I It’s aural, physical and spiritual experience. We make ourselves comfortable on the floor with rugs and cushions, and close our eyes. It starts gently with the sound of the smaller gongs. We allow the different sound waves to envelop us. This gradually builds up and includes a very large gong. It’s wonderful and absorbing. The sound of the large gong gets louder and louder, not by bashing but in a very subtle way. We also hear the rain sound tube Then it all slowly fades away and allows us to embrace the silence.”
