(and clean up in the process!)
Calling messy musicians and creatives! Is clutter inhibiting your creativity? Or are you so busy with your creative projects that your home environment gets neglected?
Many creatives, (artists, musicians, writers, crafters), have lots of creative ideas and interests and housework is very uninteresting in comparison. In fact some of us struggle with it a LOT. Most of us also probably have way too much stuff as well.
It might be that the messy house getting in way of musical goals or other creative projects. Perhaps you lose items you need? Do you struggle with space to do things? Perhaps you leave things out so you know where they are or so you can go back to them?
Do you put things off because even though you want to do them, you feel you ought to tackle the house first?
Perhaps you have saved lots of things for art projects and don’t want to waste them, but just have too much stuff. Perhaps you can’t help keep buying more ..instruments, art supplies, books, materials, clothes – even though you actually already have too much?
Do you balk at the thought of having people round because you have to clean up first? Or perhaps you need that to motivate you to do it so are quite grateful. Perhaps grateful and sllightly resentful at the same time? Or has it got so hard that you avoid having people over at all. And the dread of someone coming round unexpectedly or having to have workmen in is too much?
And the disorganisation and at times overwhelm is not only getting in the way of your creative pursuits but also your enjoyment of life and perhaps even your self worth. And knowing your creativity would actually be even better if you could be a bit more organised, could find things, weren’t swamped by clutter and didn’t have that underlying guilt and perhaps even shame around it all?
