Where are you doing too much for others?
We are often too busy and giving energy away instead of giving to self. This can be a way of avoiding ourselves, or a need to be needed, or a way to feel significant (that can be healthy or unhealthy). Either way, if we have a ‘busyness stash’ that is a surefire way to have limited time and energy for our own needs, but especially for dealing with clutter and mess.
I’m not saying stop doing everything for anyone – some of us are parents and much is needed of us, or carers, or have other responsibilities. Nonetheless if you have an honest look there is probably a reduction possible – and likely necessary.
Today’s task is to make a list of what you are doing each day for other people. Have a look at this list. What could you pare down?
I’m not asking you to take action today just to look at this.
And the phone boundary (how’s this going by the way? another potential time black hole..)
