Day 4 Phone Freedom
Let’s put the phone away, out of sight (- studies show that it makes a difference not being able to physically see it) and commit to looking at it only every 2 hours to check or use, then put it away again. They are useful tools, no doubt but we can easily become slaves to them in varying degrees. They were called cell phones for a reason! We can check back in the celebration Whatsapp later to celebrate <3
It might be that the phone is not a big problem for you. Even if it is, what else do you waste time on? At the moment we are not trying to change – we are just noticing. So today just observe yourself and what you do.
Your second task today is 5 gratitudes – say out loud 5 things you are grateful for <3
Your third task either set a 5 min timer and start decluttering anywhere. Or pick up 5 things to throw away. Is it ok if they were things you would have thrown away anyway? Yes let’s make things nice and easy 🙂
Gently is the key. Kindly is key. Compassionately is key. And celebrate. Celebrating ourselves and every small win might seem silly and unnecessary. Culturally we’ve been taught to be hard on ourselves to improve and it’s not true. Give yourself that little dose of happy chemicals by bigging yourself up and having a little dance around the kitchen. 🎉🎉🎉
It would be really wonderful if you also do the rest practice as well. Whether it’s listening to the recording, or just 10 mins quiet, lie down, no phone no distractions
