Messy Musicians and Creatives Chaos to Compassion Day 5

Woman maniacally playing a cello with a feather duster
Day 5 careful with places you might acquire and tiny goals for cleaning

So we talked about turning off the tap at the beginning of the week..

Boot fairs, charity shops, antique fairs, garage sales… Let’s see if we can avoid them for the whole of this course. It’s usually a lot easier in the beginning to avoid them altogether than to go to them and not acquire.

This might be tricky if we are trying to release stuff. Options – take to metal bins in car parks – so no acquiring possible – or less likely anyway, unless someone left something out so be careful if freebies and bargains are a weakness. Or if you would like to try dropping off at a charity shop, I suggest going in with ‘tunnel vision’, donate and come straight out.

There might be also be shops where we tend to overbuy. Can we avoid them? We also have online sources of buying. We are not going to be perfect, and we are not aiming for it. Just awareness and intention. If you do acquire something see if you can at least let go of something similar or similar size. One in, one out <3

Today’s task. Do you hate cleaning? – I’m suggesting clean a square inch of anywhere. It’s likely you might do more but that is not the task! The task is just the square inch. Remember the undercommit (and maybe overdeliver) Celebrate!

Also name out loud 5 gratefuls. Celebrate!

How’s the rest going? Nidra practice, ten min timer for a lie down. Let’s do it again today <3
